Description

The Town Pump is a 18th-century structure located in the center of Cornhill at the north end of the street. It features a square stone tapered shaft topped with a ball. The shaft is adorned with five vermiculated projecting stone bands and has a square base with a round lower base. Originally serving as a town pump, it has a tablet that commemorates its erection in 1784, marking the site of the former Cupola or Market House.
