Description

Nos 7 and 8 are a pair of cottages dating from the mid 19th century. They feature rubble walls with ashlar dressings and have gable-ended slate roofs. The left side has a rendered octagonal stack, while the right side has a recent brick replacement. The facade is symmetrical and consists of one and a half storeys with a four-window range. The outer bays have three-light casements with diamond-pane leaded lights. The upper floor has a central six-light window with a returned label, and the ground floor has a central recessed porch that contains four-light stone mullioned windows with diamond-pane cast-iron lights. A central ashlar supporting pier is present, and the entire porch features a returned label. The doors are plain wooden. Adjacent to the south is a water pump housed in a wooden casing topped with a ball finial.
