Description

No. 4 Church Green is a late 1840s house, although the datestone "WD 1845" may refer to alterations made at that time. The ground floor is constructed of Purbeck rubble, while the first floor is red brick. The roof is pitched and covered in modern tiles, with a catslide at the rear. A red brick stack is present. The house is two storeys high. It features two casement windows with glazing bars on the first floor and one sash window with glazing bars on the ground floor, all set within flush frames. The front door is a planked door. The datestone is possibly a fragment of medieval masonry that originated from the demolished nave of Lady St Mary's Church. The listed buildings within Church Green are considered to form a group.
