Description

The wall located north of No. 4, bounding the west side of Church Green, is a modern structure built with old materials, primarily Purbeck rubble. It incorporates several medieval fragments, including a scalloped and beaded capital, likely from the 11th century; a fragment of a tomb chest or possibly an eroded escutcheon; a spandrel of two cusped arches set upside down, which may relate to the escutcheon; and a finial, probably from the 15th century. All the listed buildings in Church Green are part of a group.
