Description
Nos 1 and 2, The Quay, are 18th-century buildings constructed of red brick with a pitched tile roof. They feature a brick gable parapet supported by kneelers and have red brick stacks. The buildings are two storeys high with attics, and the bricks are laid diagonally at the eaves. There are three ranges of bipartite cased sash windows with segmental heads and keystones. A 19th-century porch has brick tumbling leading to the gable. The attics include three dormers with hipped tile roofs, tile-hung cheeks, and sashes with glazing bars. To the north, there is a 19th-century extension that has one range of segment-headed casements with glazing bars and keystones. The pavement is made of Purbeck setts and some cobbles, framed by open drains in a triangular shape. All the listed buildings in The Quay are part of a group.
