Description

No. 28, at the end of a short row, is a late 18th-century house in Weymouth. The house is rendered with some face brickwork to the front, and has a concrete tile roof. It comprises a small front range with a high mansard roof, and a flat-roofed rear wing added later. The house has two storeys and an attic, with two windows. There is a 12-pane sash window with brick voussoirs, and a full-height, 8:12:8-paned flat bow window. The ground floor bow window is smaller than the one above and may have been inserted later. A 20th-century door is located to the left, set under a painted fanlight. The ground floor is rendered with a full-width fascia; the first floor brickwork has contrasting headers and a rendered blocking course to a slight parapet. The return gable is also rendered and has three small 20th-century sash windows. The interior has not been inspected. The house forms the end of a short row continuing west from the church, and stands somewhat isolated due to demolition clearance in the 1960s.
