Description
Number 23 is a house built in the early to mid-19th century, located at the end of a row in Trinity Road, Weymouth. It is a front-range building with a wide-span mansard roof, accompanied by various rear additions, including a long wing situated next to Holy Trinity Church. The house has three storeys, an attic, and a basement, presenting a two-window facade. Dormer windows with segmental heads are visible, positioned above full-height canted bays with plain sashes and dentil cornices at each level, extending across the full width to the top floor and incorporating panelled spandrels. At basement level, there are three plain sashes with voussoirs and a keystone. An off-centre, right-hand side features a six-panel door within an arched, moulded architrave, incorporating a plain fanlight, and accessed by two stone steps with nosings. The house has a plain blocking course and coped parapet, along with large brick gable stacks. The rear elevation includes segmental-headed lights and a large 16-pane sash in a wing adjacent to Holy Trinity Church, plus a flat-roofed extension. The interior was not inspected. Subsidiary features include spearhead railings stretching across the full frontage, mounted on a stone dwarf wall, returning to the doorway and continuing across the frontage to the adjacent number 22.
