Description

Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse with origins dating back to the 16th century, featuring extensions and alterations from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. The building is constructed with a timber frame that is rendered and whitewashed, along with brick, chequerwork flint, and ashlar. It has brick stacks on the right side and along the ridge on the left. The right end of the farmhouse has a large projecting chimney breast made of flint and ashlar. The structure is two storeys high and has a four-window range with 12-pane sash windows. A part-glazed panelled door is located between the two right-hand bays, and there is a later part-glazed porch.

Inside, notable features include chamfered beams and exposed timber framing, a fireplace with a moulded timber bressummer, and part of the original tie-beam roof which retains stop-chamfered purlins and chamfered windbracing. Some roof trusses date from the 17th century, and the design of these trusses indicates that the living space was originally open to the roof.
