Description
The Yew Tree is a building with origins in the 17th century, located on the north side of Cook Row. It has been altered and refaced in the 18th century. The front wall is made of brick that has been colour-washed, and it features a tiled roof with a brick chimney stack. On the ground floor, there is a central entrance door that is part-glazed and has a simple flat moulded hood supported by console brackets. There are two bow windows on this level, which are likely modern additions. The first floor contains two double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, along with one blocked window in the center. The rear wall is timber-framed with brick infill and still has original oak mullioned windows. Inside, the east party wall is timber-framed, and there are deep chamfered oak beams that support the first floor.
