Description
Ashton Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse built in the early to mid 19th century. It features coursed and squared limestone walls and a slate roof that is half hipped at both ends with parallel ridges. There is a rendered stack located behind the ridge, to the right of the center. The building has a double pile plan and consists of two storeys with attics.
The façade includes three sash windows with glazing bars, which have projecting and dropped plain keystones and stone cills. The front door is centrally located and is a six-panelled design with a reeded surround and a fanlight above that has radiating glazing bars. The door features projecting imposts, a keystone, and ashlar stone voussoirs, all dating from the early 19th century. The east end of the house is rendered and has a full set of sash windows, including those in the attic. Additionally, there is a single-storey outbuilding at the west end, which has a hipped slate roof.
