Description

Tess Cottage is a detached cottage, originally three separate dwellings, dating from the early 18th century or earlier, with some 19th-century changes to the windows. The cottage features coursed rubble-stone walls and a chalk-block gable end. Its roof is thatched, with a half-hipped design on the left side and gabled on the right side. There are 20th-century red brick chimney stacks located on both gables. The cottage has one and a half storeys and includes a total of five windows on the ground floor. The windows are mainly two-light iron casements with lead lights, set in wooden frames with pegged wood lintels, along with a two-light cast-iron casement featuring glazing bars and wooden lintels. The front door, located at the center, is a plank door with two top lights and dates from the 19th century.
