Description
The gun emplacement located 770 meters north-west of Knoll House Hotel is a structure made of reinforced shuttered concrete and brick. The front chamber is square in plan and open-fronted, featuring a concrete canopy that projects forward, although it is now incomplete. The gun mounting is no longer visible. At the rear, there are two passageways that lead down steps to three underground rooms, likely used for ammunition storage, which have brick walls and ceilings made of shuttered concrete.
To the south-west of the gun emplacement, there is a trench with a winding shape, which is probably related to the use of Studland Heath as a military training area around 1942.
