Description
White House is a detached house dated 1635, with 19th century alterations. It features rubble stone walls with stone quoins and a slate roof with gable ends. There are 20th century brick stacks on the south-west and south-east gables. The building has an L-plan layout, is two storeys high with attics, and has one window in each range. The remains of stone window frames and stone labels from the 17th century can be seen, along with inserted 20th century three-light wooden casements with glazing bars. The front door is made of planks and is located in the angle, covered by a wooden frame and a patent tile pentice roof. Inside, the staircase has symmetrically turned balusters and square newels with turned finials. The drawing-room fireplace features an 18th century surround with a frieze and cornice.
