Description

Twofords Bridge is an 18th-century road bridge that spans the River Lydden. It is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. The bridge features two segmental arches with an ashlar band above. There is a parapet with end piers and flush ashlar coping, as well as ashlar cutwaters with rounded tops on both sides. A plaque on the bridge warns that the penalty for malicious damage to it is transportation for life.
