Description
The Wellington Arms Public House is a public house located on St Alban Street in Weymouth. It was built in the early 19th century, with a ground floor front added in the late 19th century. The building is rendered and has a slate roof. It stands three storeys tall with a basement and features two windows. On the second floor, there are 12-pane sash windows set in reveals on stone sills. Below, there is an 8:12:8-pane bow oriel window with a dentil cornice and a 12-pane window. The ground floor has a full-width front made of green faience tile, which includes a deep sloping fascia leading to a dentilled cornice, supported by large decorative consoles and pilasters. The windows on this level are 2- and 3-pane, with a door to the left and a blocked pair in the centre, all featuring transom lights and set on a deep faience sill-mould. There is also a cellar access hatch to the left. The building has a moulded cornice, a blocking course, a coped parapet, and a stack on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
