Description
This bridge over the River Frome, located on Charminster Road 75 yards north of the junction with A37 (Maiden Newton Road), dates from the 18th century or earlier. It is constructed from Portland or Ridgeway ashlar, featuring a red brick parapet with ashlar coping. The bridge has three arches, with the flanking arches being two-centred and the central arch being segmental. There are two cutwaters with battered tops. The parapets are splayed at either end and continue for 3 yards north with rubble walls.
