Description
East Cottage is a pair of cottages, likely built in the late 18th century. They feature pebble-dash rendered walls and thatched roofs, with a central brick chimney stack. The cottages are one storey high with attics and have single-storey lean-tos at each end, where the thatch extends over them. Each cottage has a door set in a rustic timber porch. The ground floor of each cottage includes one casement window with cast iron lights; No. 1 has a second window in an extension with cast iron lights, while No. 2 features a modern metal casement window. In the attics, both cottages have three half-dormers with casements that also have cast iron lights. Inside, No. 2 contains a large open fireplace with a cambered lintel, which has been partly bricked up, and one stop-chamfered ceiling beam. No. 1 has a modern flat-roofed porch at the rear.
