Description
No 3 South Street, formerly known as Lloyds' Bank, is a mid-18th century building with a stucco front that may have been altered in the mid-19th century. It features a pitched slate roof and 19th-century rendered stacks. The building has two storeys and includes a moulded eaves cornice supported by giant pilasters at each end. There is a parapet with a balustrade that has four piers and vase-shaped balusters. The façade has five ranges of sash windows set in moulded frames, with glazing bars on the first floor. The entrance door consists of six fielded panels and a fanlight, framed by panelled reveals. The mid-19th century surround includes panelled pilasters, Tower of Winds capitals, and elaborate consoles that support a flat moulded hood. No 3 South Street is part of a group with Nos 1, 3, and 5.
