Description
A pair of cottages dated to the 18th century, with a later extension. Number 89 was extended to the right around 1960, incorporating a former shippon. The cottages have rubble stone walls and stone slate roofs. One stone chimney stack sits between the two cottages, and a plastered stack is in number 89.
Number 87 has a 20th-century raised panel door sheltered by a gabled hood supported on timber brackets. It has one casement window with glazing bars on the ground floor and a pent-roofed dormer window in the attic, also with casements and glazing bars. A single-storey extension to the left is built using matching materials and features a 20th-century casement window with glazing bars.
The original section of number 89 has two casement windows with glazing bars on the ground floor and a pent-roofed dormer window with matching casements in the attic. The right-hand section, the former shippon, was rebuilt and enlarged around 1960. It includes a 20th-century raised panel door set within a timber portico, two sash windows with glazing bars on the ground floor, a mezzanine window to the stair, and a hipped dormer in the attic with casements and glazing bars.
