Description

No. 106 West Street is a semi-detached cottage dated 1741. It features rubble stone walls, a stone slate roof, and brick end stacks. The building is one storey with an attic, and its front wall is buttressed. The entrance has a ledged door with a small glass panel set under a flat arch. On the ground floor, there are two casement windows with a central horizontal bar, also under flat arches. The attic includes two pent-roofed dormers, each with similar casements. There is a 20th-century lean-to garage at the left end of the cottage. Inside, the main ground floor room boasts a large open fireplace with a curved timber lintel. This property is managed by the National Trust.
