Description
No. 1 Athelhampton Road is a house, part of which is used as a garage and shop. It likely dates from the early 19th century. The building has plastered walls and a thatched roof, with one brick chimney stack at the right end and another near the left end. It is two storeys high. The front features a panelled door with a fanlight above it, and there is a second door for the shop near the left end. The ground floor has two sash windows with bordered glazing, while the first floor has three similar sash windows. There is a rear wing along New Street, which is of similar construction and was probably a former outbuilding; it is now used as a shop. This wing has one casement window with glazing bars, some 20th-century metal casements, and a shuttered loft window.
