Description
Nos. 4 and 5 Cove Street are two houses located at the end of a terrace, built around 1808. They have a rendered exterior and asbestos-cement slate mansard roofs. The houses are two storeys tall with an attic, each featuring one window. The windows are 4-pane sashes, and there is a raking dormer. No. 5 has a segmental head above its ground floor sash window. To the left of each house, there is an arched doorway with reveals above an early door and a painted-over fanlight. To the right of each house, there is a rendered stack, and both have a lean-to structure at the back. The interior has not been inspected. Historically, these houses were built on Corporation land under a lease from 1807, at the same time as the adjoining Nos. 1-3, but they have separate roofs that are of lesser span than those of the other houses.
