Description
This is a mid-18th century house situated within a row. The front is constructed of Portland ashlar, while the rest of the exterior is rendered, with a steep-pitched slate roof. The house extends to three storeys and an attic, featuring two windows. There is a two-light casement dormer window with a hipped roof above. The windows are 9-pane, 12-pane and 16-pane sashes set within moulded stone architraves; the ground floor window is 16-pane. A six-panel fielded door is situated to the right, accessed by two stone steps. The ground floor is rusticated, supported by a broad, plain string with rusticated alternating quoins, and topped by a moulded cornice. A dormer is present at mid-depth on the right-hand side. The rear elevation features a continuation of the main roof ridge to another hipped dormer, incorporating 16 and 4-pane sashes over a 20th-century glazed lean-to. The interior, which was not inspected, is described in Royal Commission on Historical Monuments England (RCHME) records as having a two-room plan with a central staircase located off the passageway to the right. It is a handsome building, somewhat isolated amongst more recent development.
