Description

Weighbridge House dates primarily to the 18th century, with later additions. It comprises two parallel ranges, located at numbers 6 and 8 in Bimport. The south range has a tiled gabled roof, while the front range, facing the street, has a slate gabled roof. The front of the building is constructed of stone rubble. Number 6 has three windows, and number 8 has two. A brick dentil cornice runs along the top of the front elevation.

Number 6 includes a late 19th-century canted bay with a red tiled hipped roof on the ground floor, and a modern projection with one window to the right. The ground floor doorway is a six-panelled door, with the top two panels cut away and glazed, and is set within a frame under a wooden lintel. Number 8 features a modern door and a porch with scagliola columns and a flat roof. A lean-to annex at the right-hand end provides access to number 10, The Haven, and contains double wooden boarded doors. The attic of number 8 has a dormer window with original glazing. Most windows are modern, except for those in the dormer.
