Description
Cross Tree Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with additions and alterations from the 18th century and later. It features coursed rubble and ashlar walls topped by a gabled, thatched roof with stone stacks at each end. The building has two storeys and an irregular arrangement of windows. There is a plat band, and the windows are mainly one and three-light stone mullioned types, with some replaced in the 20th century. The facade facing Sackmore Lane includes an oval, ashlar window at the first floor level. Inside, notable features include an original staircase with close strings, square newel-posts, heavy vase-shaped balusters, and square section balusters. There are also chamfered beams and plank and muntin partitions on the first floor.
