Description

This is a pair of buildings, now combined into one property, located in West Borough. The earlier building, number 11, likely dates from the early 19th century and shares a similar style with number 9. It features rendered walls, a slate roof with a gable end facing the street, and two storeys with attics. A Gothic-style entrance surround with a four-centred arch and a stepped hood mould is at ground-floor level, alongside a shop window. A canted oriel window with a moulded cill, a battlemented head, and side-hung casements with glazing bars occupies the first floor. The attic has a double-hung sash window with glazing bars, also beneath a hood mould. The roof gable has plain verge detailing. Number 13 is from the mid-19th century and has colourwashed brick walls, a slate roof, and brick stacks, with a gable end facing the street. It is two storeys high with attics. The ground floor contains a modern glazed door and shop window, and to the south of the door, an archway provides access to a through passage. The first floor has two double-hung sash windows with centre bars; the attic has a single, matching window. The roof gable is finished with decorative timber bargeboards.
