Description
Turnpike Cottage, formerly known as the Toll-House, is a former toll-house that has been converted into a cottage. It dates from the late 19th century and features hammer-dressed and rock-faced masonry. The building has a three-sided bay at the center, with an attached wing on either side. There is a plat band adorned with heavy dentils and a central circle. The roofs are slate with gable ends and a central rear gable, along with a brick stack on the rear gable. The cottage is two stories tall and has four windows, which are two-light wood casements with horizontal glazing bars. The front bay has a plank door at the center, which is from the 20th century.
