Description

Linden Lea is a single cottage that was originally three separate dwellings, dating from the early 18th century. It features coursed rubble-stone walls and a thatched roof with gable ends. There are brick stacks at the gable ends and one on the ridge to the right of the center. The building is 1½ storeys high and has three windows, with three blocked openings and two doors, including a front door with three lights. Above, there are two light eyebrow dormers. The windows are small wood casements with glazing bars and wood lintels above them. To the left of the center, there is a plank door with a wood frame and lintel above. The current front door, located to the right of the center, is a 19th-century plank door with weatherboarding. A rubble stone porch with a stone slab gabled roof was added in the 20th century. Inside, there are slightly chamfered ceiling beams and an open fireplace in the right gable, which has a 20th-century revetment covering an earlier opening. There is also a central stone-lined fireplace with a 20th-century wood lintel still in place.
