Description
Knapp House is a building that likely started as two cottages and has since been converted into one house, with significant alterations. It dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with modifications made in the 19th century. The exterior features coursed rubble walls and a tiled roof, with stone slates at the eaves. The main part of the house has end stacks, while a later addition on the right also has an end stack, and the addition on the left has no stack. The windows are arranged in an irregular pattern, with all being wooden sashes that include glazing bars, except for one casement window with leaded lights located on the upper floor of the right-hand addition. The door, situated in the left-hand addition, is topped with a wooden pediment supported by scrolled brackets. Inside, the ground floor showcases deep chamfered beams. The height of the eaves has been raised, likely during the 19th century. An insurance plaque is visible on the wall.
