Description
The detached service block located 5 metres west of Sadborow House dates from the late 18th century. It features rubble walls with brick quoins and dressings, and a slate roof made of dovetail slates. At the ridge, there is a slate-hung cupola with oval openings and a lead cap, topped with a weathervane. The building is two storeys high and three doors wide, with one upper-storey casement window. There are three stable doors with brick-dressed jambs; the left-hand opening is now blocked, the central opening has no door, and the right-hand opening retains a wooden plank door. Above the central door, there is a square stone armorial panel displaying the arms of Bragge quartering. The interior was previously divided into a bakehouse, brewhouse, and laundry, featuring a large bread oven in the central area, which has a rectangular opening with a segmental arch-head.
