Description

Snowdon House is an 18th-century house located on Gold Street in Stalbridge. It features coursed rubble stone walls and a tiled gable-ended roof with stone end stacks and slightly sprocketed eaves. The building has a symmetrical facade with two storeys and three bays. The outer bays each have slightly canted two-storey bay windows. The central entrance consists of a four-panelled door that is recessed under a round-headed arch and includes a fanlight above it. There is also a shoe scraper inserted into the wall. At the rear, there is a wing that connects to the front block with a straight joint and may be older than the main structure; this wing includes some leaded-light casements. Originally, the front facade was stuccoed.
