Description

The Old House is a house that likely originated in the 15th century, with various additions and alterations made over the years. The exterior is constructed from coursed rubble, clunch, banded brick and flint, timber framing, and Flemish bond brickwork, with some areas partially rendered. It has a thatched roof with brick stacks positioned partway along the ridge. The building has two storeys and features irregular window arrangements.

On the ground floor, there are two 3-light casements with leaded lights. The upper floor has four 4-light casements with leaded lights, with the leftmost window likely dating from the early 18th century and still retaining its original glass. Above the doorway, which is located towards the left of the building and is blocked, there is a small chamfered stone loop, and the doorway itself has a heavy chamfered timber surround. There is also another blocked entrance on the right side. A 20th-century door is present in the left gable wall.

Although the interior has not been inspected, it is reported to contain several early features, including the original roof structure.
