Description

The Baker Arms is a late 18th-century public house in Child Okeford. It is constructed of brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a tiled roof and end brick stacks. The building is symmetrical, with a three-window arrangement on the upper floor. A central doorway has a part-glazed door and a pedimented doorcase, likely re-set in a 20th-century porch. Flanking the doorway are a pair of narrow eight-pane sashes. The outer bays feature 19th-century 12-pane sashes, while the upper floor has likely original 16-pane sashes. A projecting, stepped chimney-breast displays an unusual design.
