Description
The Parish Church of St Catherine is a Grade II listed building that was entirely rebuilt in 1883, located to the north of the old site. The church features dressed stone walls and clay-tile roofs with stone gable copings. A stone bell-cote is situated on the west gable, and there is a cross on the east gable. The nave and chancel are combined into one space.
On the south elevation, there is a two-light window with trefoiled heads and a quatrefoil above, along with coupled lancets and single lancets. The east window consists of three grouped lancets with a trefoiled rear-arch. The doorway to the nave has a pointed-segmental arch, and the inner door features chamfered jambs and a plank design with ornamental strap-hinges.
Inside, there is a piscina in the chancel with a quatrefoil drain, which is medieval, while the rest of the fittings are from the 19th century. The nave contains 16 pews, mostly featuring reeded and carved bench-ends, dating from the 17th century and later.
