Description

The High Cliff Hotel is an early to mid-19th century villa, originally known as High Cliff, and depicted on the "Plan of Lyme Regis and Environs" of 1841. It is a two-storey building with a two-storeyed bay at each end of the front facade. The eaves overhang the building. A modern upper storey with a hipped slate roof has been added to the centre. The front is rendered. Double-sash windows are present in each end bay, and the central section features three window bays. The ground floor incorporates round-headed windows. A prostyle Doric porch is a prominent feature. The first floor displays plain rectangular sashes. The interior is of particular interest, as noted in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, Dorset, Volume I.
