Description
Aller Green is a pair of cottages, probably from the 18th century, located on Hilton Aller Lane. They feature brick walls and a half-hipped thatched roof with a central brick chimney. The cottages are one storey with an attic.
No. 1 has a slate-roofed lean-to at the left end that includes a casement wall with glazing bars. The main part of the house has a part-glazed door leading into a 20th-century conservatory. The ground floor has two casements with glazing bars set under brick arches, and the attic contains two dormers with casements also featuring glazing bars.
No. 2 has a slate-roofed extension at the right end with a metal window. The main house has a 20th-century flush door within a timber porch. The ground floor includes one casement with glazing bars and one 20th-century top-hung window with glazing bars. The attic has two dormers with casements with glazing bars. The main ground floor room features a large fireplace that has been built up, with a cambered oak lintel, and there are some exposed ceiling beams.
