Description
This churchyard cross is located 4 metres south of the south tower of the Church of St Andrew. It features a 15th-century base and the lower part of the shaft, with a 19th-century continuation of the shaft and a gabled aedicule. The cross is made of Ham stone and stands on a round plinth supported by four round stone steps. The square base of the cross-shaft has roll-and-spur stops, and there is foliage decoration on the chamfered corners. The 19th-century shaft tapers in the same form as the base. The gabled aedicule has a carved depiction of the Crucifixion from the 19th century. Notably, Lord Fisher of Lambeth, the 99th Archbishop of Canterbury, is buried in the vault beneath the cross.
