Description
Lower Fifehead Farmhouse is a farmhouse with a main range dating from the late 16th century, a front wing dated 1739, and a 19th-century extension on the right. The 16th and 17th-century sections are built of coursed rubble, while the 19th-century section is made of brick in Flemish bond. The roofs are slate with gable ends, and there are brick stacks at the ends of the earlier ranges.
The 16th-century range features a hollow-chamfered stone mullioned window with four lights and four-centred heads, set in an ogee-moulded surround with a moulded square label on the ground floor to the right. The upper floor has two similar windows with cable-moulded labels. Another window of this type is located on the ground floor of the southeast front. There is a 20th-century porch added to the building.
The 18th-century wing has 20th-century casements made of metal and wood, along with a four-panel glazed door. The 19th-century range includes two-light wooden casements with glazing bars and a 20th-century porch.
