Description

This is a row of four late 18th-century buildings numbered 50 to 54, North Allington. They are constructed of red brick, with number 52 having been colour-washed. The roofs are slate, with a coped gable at the south end, and the buildings feature red brick stacks. A modillion eaves cornice runs along the top of the buildings.

Number 50 has two casement windows on the first floor, and two sash windows on the ground floor. One ground-floor window has a moulded wooden cornice, while the others have unusual diamond-shaped voussoirs. A recessed diamond-shaped panel is visible under the eaves. Number 52 has two modern windows on the first floor, and a casement window and a 19th-century shop window with glazing bars on the ground floor, along with a blocked door. Number 54 has a range of casement windows with glazing bars and a planked door with an elliptical fanlight.

Numbers 22 to 80 (even) form a group with numbers 1 to 13 on Portland Place.
