Description

Reform Place, located in North Allington, comprises numbers 70 to 78 (even) and dates to 1835. The building is roughcast with a pitched slate roof. It is two storeys in height and features six ranges of sash windows with glazing bars, each with a small hood supported on brackets. Each range has a paired doorway with a hood on cast iron brackets featuring acanthus ornament, leading to contemporary six-panel doors, with the exception of number 76B. A cartouche is positioned above the central doorway and displays the inscription "Reform Place. 1835." along with the motto "Vox Populi, Vox Dei" upon a scroll. Reform Place forms a group with numbers 22 to 80 (even) and numbers 1 to 13 (consec) Portland Place.
