Description

The Beale Monument is a ledger stone located about 3 metres south of the south porch of the Church of St. Mary and St. Julian in Maker-with-Rame. It dates from the 18th century and is made of slate. The stone features a raised carved primitive skull with crossed bones at the top, along with a laudatory quatrain. The monument is dedicated to Judith Beale, although the date is indecipherable.
