Description

This is a headstone dated 1766, located 0.25 metres south of the south aisle of the Church of St. James in St Kew. It commemorates Phillip, the son of William and Mary Higgs, who passed away in that year. The headstone is made of slate and features a nowy-head with stepped shoulders. The inscription is presented in upper and lower case lettering with serifs, and includes incised decorations of a crude angel's head, a skull and crossed bones, and a heart.
