Description
Nos 2 and 4 South Street are early to mid-19th century buildings made of painted brick and standing three storeys tall. They feature three sash windows, although only one has glazing bars, while the central windows on the first and second floors are casements. The buildings have twin adjoining doors and two small plate glass shop windows, with curved corners and a slate hipped roof. The north elevation, which is now part of No 4, is constructed of stone rubble and also stands three storeys high, featuring two sash windows with glazing bars and a large plate glass shop window with a moulded cornice, topped by a slate hipped roof. These buildings occupy a prominent position and are included for their group value with the King of Prussia Public House, Town Quay, Nos 4 and 6 Market Street, and Nos 2 to 6 (even) Webb Street.
