3/23 Penadlake barn 10 m to - south of Penadlake Farmhouse
GV II
Multi-purpose barn with stables, shippon and cartshed on ground floor and threshing floor above. Early to mid C19. Circa early C19 bank barn adjoining on east. Circa mid C19 piggery projecting at right angles on south. Rubble stone with scantle slate roof, hipped on west and gabled on east. North elevation. Earlier bank barn on left under slightly lower roof. 2 storeys with timber lintels to ground floor plank doors and to 2 square openings flanking double doors on first. Later barn continues elevation with asymmetrical 2-storey facade. Ground floor with dressed voussoirs to door on left and to double arched cart shed, partly blocked on right. Hood over cart shed. First floor with 2 double doors with slate hoods over and a small ventilation opening. Stone steps to first floor of barn on rear together with semicircular opening with dressed voussoirs on ground floor. Roof of main barn with trusses with pegged joints of Queen post design. Later strengthening consists of King Post and struts to an axial beam supported on post at mid span. Torching remains.
