Description

The Chynoweth monument is a headstone located in the churchyard about 10 metres west of the tower of the Church of St. Mary and St. Julian. This 18th-century monument is made of slate and features a tall, rounded head with a lined border. At the top, there is an incised head of a cherub with wings, accompanied by a star above it. The lettering on the monument is well-preserved and commemorates Sampson Chynoweth, who passed away in 1749.
