Description
The cowhouse at West Coombeshead is an early 19th-century structure with later alterations. It is built from roughly coursed slate-stone and features alternating granite angle quoins, topped with a hipped asbestos sheet roof. The building has two levels and includes a continuous row of pigeon nesting holes and ledges directly below the eaves on the front. On the ground floor, there are eight round-headed doorways with granite voussoirs, some of which have been infilled while others have plank doors. Above these, to the left and right, are two large infilled openings. The adjacent West Coombeshead Farmhouse has been demolished.
