Description
This house, located to the north east of The Tinners Arms in Zennor, dates back to 1838 and was extended around the mid 19th century. It is constructed from painted granite rubble with granite dressings and features a slurried scantle slate hipped roof with deep eaves and a brick chimney on the original right-hand side wall.
The original layout was a shallow double-depth house with two front rooms and a central lobby or cross passage. The mid 19th century extension added a one-room bay on the left side, which is slightly irregularly shaped due to the site, and has its windows positioned at the left-hand end.
The house is two storeys tall and originally had a symmetrical three-window east front with a central doorway, which has since been moved to the left-hand window opening. The entrance features a 19th-century four-panel door, and the windows are mainly late 19th-century four-pane horned sashes, except for a mid 19th-century 12-pane hornless sash at the left-hand end on the ground floor. Above this window is a late 19th-century oriel bay window with a hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected.
