House Immediately South West of the New Inn

This is a house dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, situated immediately southwest of The New Inn. It is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings, and has an asbestos slate roof. Brick chimneys rise from the gable ends. The original design was a double-depth plan, likely with a slightly wider kitchen on the left and a parlour to the right, flanking a cross passage. This leads to a rear stair hall situated between two service rooms. A later lean-to addition is present at the rear on the left side. The south-east front is nearly symmetrical, featuring a central doorway and windows arranged in a balanced pattern. The doorway retains an old panelled door, and the windows are circa late 19th or early 20th century four-pane horned sashes in original openings. The rear of the house likely has original 16-pane horizontally sliding sashes in the first-floor openings. The interior was not inspected.
