Description

The Truscott monument is a headstone located in the churchyard about 16 metres south west of the tower of the Church of St Stephen. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of granite, featuring a slate inscription tablet. The headstone has a moulded edge and a shouldered round head, with a rebated slate inscription tablet that also has a shouldered round shape. A cherub's head with wings is carved in low relief on the monument. The lettering and verses commemorate John Truscott, who passed away in 1807.
