James chest tomb at approx 10m south of tower of Church of St Maugan

GV II

Chest tomb. Early C19. Dressed granite monolith sides with incised slate monolith slab insert. Rectangular on plan. Inscriptions to: Eleanor James, daughter of William and Elizabeth James of Lemarth, died 1825 aged 24, with the following epitaph: Swiftly our moments haste away With evry heaving breath And swiftly hastens on the day When we must sink in death and Joseph Harriet Ruberry, died 9th December 1840 aged 4 years 4 months.
